Spring is Here

Spring is Here?

The calendar says it’s Spring but the temperatures are way below normal!  Yesterday day was the only sunny day this week – I see that clouds have moved in today but no rain (yet).

It has been an interesting week.  I had one job interview Monday and have another one today.  I usually do better if I just walk into a job – interviewing is not just something I’m good at.  I have been getting emails from Interview Mastery – they really want to sell their product – but there are gems about interviewing in the newsletters.  Maybe something will stick. <grin>

We decided to change where we do our banking  - some was in a credit union in Virginia and the rest of it in a credit union here.  We were trying to sort our stuff the local credit union when we realized it wasn’t going to work – one saving account (mine) and one checking account (ours) that was used by Larry.

So after a quick Google search I found a local credit union where we could start over with two sets of accounts and where they had free on-line bill paying.  So we now have his and her savings, checking, and IRAs.  Getting the stuff out of the other local credit union wasn’t too hard but it will take a lot of work to move everything out of the long-distance credit union – there are direct deposits and automatic payments that have to be relocated.  It will take a good deal of work to move everything but once we do we’ll have our accounts set up just the way we want them – at a local credit union where I have the email address of the branch manager – sweet!

Tyger is now eleven weeks old.  She’s found where the mole is in our yard (this is only the second year that we’ve had them) and has started digging.  She is a very gleeful digger (sigh…). We have to go out with her every time she goes out so I’m getting way more fresh air than I’m used to….  At least she’s sleeping through the night….

I had to rip a big section of blue out the cross-stitch piece I’m working on – the two sides didn’t line up so the ripping had to start (sigh….).  It will be worth it though since the re-stitching will be done right.

Now that things have settled down just a bit I’ll do my best to get back into doing this a bit more regularly.

Take care & Enjoy,
Florence

Taxes Are Done!!! We Have A New Puppy!!!!

February is normally the month that I set aside to do a years work of record keeping. I know I should do it as I go along but somehow that never seems to work out. I have been working feverishly the last few weeks and finally got the tax stuff done today and sent it over to our tax preparer – Whew!!

On February 15th we said goodbye to a beloved friend – Rest in Peace Fudggie!

A lot has happened to us during the 11 ½ years that we had Fudggie – retired from the Navy, started a career in Accounting, bought a house, got a Master’s Degree, started selling on Ebay…

We didn’t waste any time getting a new dog… so on February 16th we said hello to:

Our Litte Tyger
01/03/2006 -

We had decided to downside our dog so we ending up getting a Cairn Terrier and Shiba Uni. If you've ever seen the Wizard of Oz, you have seen a Cairn - that's what Toto was. The Shiba Uni is a Japanese breed - a cousine of the Akita. Our pup shouldn't weigh more than 20lbs when full grown. She is an interesting mix of breeds - a Google search will bring up information on the two breeds.

Our little Tyger is quite a handful right now - she gets into everything a goes places where no dog has gone in this house! We’re making progress with her – she is on her way to being housebroken, has taken well to the leash, and has learned to sleep in her crate (which is great for our sanity!). She is small and moves fast – quite a change from our old Labrador!

The job at the cookie factor ended Friday. I enjoyed working there so I was kind of sad that the job had to end. I have been to a couple of interviews this week so hopefully something will turn up soon. I've enjoyed having this week off - it has made getting the tax stuff done a lot easier!

Now that the tax stuff is done - it's time to re-stock my Ebay store. I don't really have the time to post items when I'm working but I do sell stuff our of my store and when the number of items drops below 100, I like to post some new things. I'll be moving all of my books and movies that I have on Half.com over to Ebay. It's a little harder to track the Half.com sales than it is Ebay's so to simplfy things for me next year I'll do all of my selling on Ebay...

It has been very busy time for me the last few weeks - hopefully things will slow down just a bit...

Take care & enjoy,

Florence
