The Holiday Rush Has Begun!!

The holiday madness has already started for me - last Sunday was my husband's birthday and Friday was his Mom's.

This birthday card was given to my husband two years ago. After some trial and error, I finally got it framed:

For his Mom, I gave her the roses that I didn't get done in time for Mother's Day:

Here are some pictures I took around the house last weekend.

This is the big maple tree in front of our house. We think it was planted when the house was built in 1970:

I love the red color of our neighbor's Japanese maple. And yes, we have a tiger stripe mail box

I like this picture of Tyger (22 months old) - looking straight up at me. This was taken in our breezeway (did I mention our house was built in 1970?)

This will be short week at work for me since I got Friday off - it's not a holiday at Staples. I hope to get a lot of the stuff done for Christmas. I also have four more projects to get stitched and I am going to have to go the Hobby Lobby to get some things framed. All in all - a very busy weekend!

I probably won't come up for air until after that weekend, so I'm sending you and yours wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving!

Take care & enjoy,
Florence

Navy Beats Notre Dame!!

I just watched the last few seconds of the game - just long enough to see it to go into overtime. Walked the dog and came back just in time to see the third overtime!! It was really nice to see Navy beat them - the first time since 1963. I was around back then but I wasn't watching college football and wasn't even thinking about a Navy career!

Here are some more pictures from our fall trip:

This was a busy week at work since it was quarter end and I have a big project that I just need to get done. The result - a ton of overtime!

We've got all of our clocks set back already - thankfully there are some that will do it automatically - cable box, cell phone, and computer.

October just flew by and the next couple will as well. The holiday madness starts for me in a couple of weeks with my husband's (11th) and mother-in-laws (16th) birthdays. And then the race is on!

Well. I've got to get back to stitching - I have four gifts to stitch - and not to mentions the framing and finishing. Good thing I got the Friday after Thanksgiving off - I need that four day weekend to get the big majority of Christmas stuff done!

The cool weather has finally settled in - I saw the first goldfinch at the bird feeder tonight. We don't get them every year - just on the cooler ones.

Take care & enjoy,
Florence
