Winter Returns

After a very mild January, wintry weather blew in with February.  It’s been a little cold in the mornings but afternoons aren’t too bad.  The groundhog does really mean much down in these parts – there is no way that winter will last six more weeks down here – the average highs are moving towards the low 60’s so even if we do get a little wintry weather it won’t last long.  It looks like we might get some flurries on Saturday – but beautiful weather returns for Sunday.

I made a blanket last night.  My husband wanted a fleece blanket for the bed so I found a really cute fleece fabric on eBay – medium gray with black and white dog prints.  I got a big grin from my husband when I showed him the fabric.  Armed with black blanket binding and my trusty Singer, I made a blanket.  I know how to sew but prefer to stitch straight seams.  I have another blanket that needs the binding replaced – I’ll save that project for the weekend.

I’m still working at the cookie and muffin factory.  You could tell that they were baking chocolate chip cookies this afternoon as I walked out of work.  That was pure torture!  I’m starting my third month there – this job was supposed to last only three weeks.  I like working over there so I don’t mind the extension…

I have another temp agency that is courting me.  Although I like where I’m working, I am still a temp and will always listen to offers. <grin>

I’ve been reading the King James Bible and I am in Revelations.  I am just about done with the New Testament but I still have the Old Testament to read.  This system really works for me, but I didn’t come up with it.  I heard it on Real Life Radio with Pastor Leo Giovinetti  (http://www.mvcf.com)

Still stitching.  I’ve picked back up the stamped piece I had been working on late last year. I’m not really fond of stamped cross-stitch but couldn’t resist the cute design.  The sooner I get this piece done the quicker that I can get back to doing what I love – counted cross stitch!

Hope you all are staying warm!!

Take care & enjoy,
Florence
