Happy Spring and Happy Easter!

It’s a little unusual to have Easter fall just after the first day of Spring. Of course in these parts spring starts a few week earlier. First the Bradford Pear trees bloom, then the dogwoods and azaleas. I noticed today that the Bradford Pears have put out their leaves. Our weeping willow started greening up the 3rd week of February. Early March our maple trees put out their blooms. Our big maple tree is full of seed – and the wind has been blowing them into our breezeway.

The cold that I came down the last week of February has moderated quite a bit but it isn’t completely gone just yet. There’s a lot of people around here walking around with what my doctor called the crud (an upper respiratory tract infections – a fancy name for a cold!).

I’m enjoying a four-day weekend. I had some vacation days to take (or lose). When I picked the days way back in February I didn’t realized it was Easter weekend – but that works out pretty well

After six weeks with no overtime and everyone’s backlog getting larger and larger – we finally got authorization to start working overtime again on March 10th. I was enjoying just working 40 hours a week, but I can’t do my job in just 40 hours.

Got our taxes back from our preparer a couple of weeks ago. We’re getting a small refund from the state but have to pay several hundred dollars to the Federal Government. That’s one reason I’m not complaining about working overtime! I need the bucks!

My week of birthdays has become nearly two weeks of birthdays with 8 of them in 10 days. Wow!

I hope you and yours all have a happy and blessed Easter.

Take care & enjoy,
Florence

Spring is in the Air ….

Now that the calendar has moved to March – we are getting ready for spring in these parts. The signs started showing up a couple of weeks ago and now that we’ve going to have a pretty mild weekend, things should be getting ready to pop.

Only worked one day last week. I’m still fighting a nasty little cold that has kept me coughing for over a week straight. Went to the doctor Monday and he gave me a prescription for cough medicine. The medicine didn’t do anything for the cough but it did give me a really sour stomach. Tuesday I couldn’t keep any food in me. Wednesday I did manage to make it to work. Took more cold medicine that night which gave me a sour stomach again. I had already put in for a couple of vacation days so I went ahead and took them. Things finally starting looking up Thursday as I began to get some food in me. But the cough still lingers.

Well, I’ve got to get back to finding receipts for the items I sold on eBay last year – the annual search for cost of goods sold. I’d like to get our tax package over to the tax preparer Monday.

Take care & enjoy,

Florence
