This past Sunday on Northpoint Online, Pastor Andy Stanley's sermon Sunday was This One Thing. http://www.northpoint.org/messages

There's one thing you can change (with God's help) to fundamentally change your life.

Also he talked about Nehemiah 6:3 "I am doing a great work and I can't come down" Look at #ThisOneThing on Twitter

I am doing a great work and I will not come down off of the wall until I am no longer a slave to debt.

There's a lot more that I need to work on but getting this big monkey off of my back is probably the best thing I can do this year.

This is the team I belong to at work. Our name is the Extreme Team but our official name is Accounts Payable, Capital, Freight, Controls. It's not very often that everyone gets in the picture. The picture was taken at our November team meeting with my Nikon L22 and Cathy had cards made. Thanks Cathy!

Happy New Year!

For the first time I'm watching the Northpoint online service on my TV! Thank you so much for the Roku channel.

I had been watching the service on my 10 inch net book. It looks so much better on my 26 inch TV.

Use The Bible to present to Gospel of the Lord Jesus

I got this from http://www.realliferadio.org/

I got the verses from http://www.biblegateway.com/ The verses are from the New International Version (NIV)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans3:23)

The man who has accepted it has certified that God is truthful. (John 3:33)

Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3: 14-16)

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." (Romans 10:9-11)

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. (Revelation 3:20)

If you haven’t received this gracious gift of God, I pray that these verses will lead you to Him.

Take care & Enjoy,
Florence

Snow!

Not much snow falls down in these parts so when 6-8 inches fall it's memorable.

The snow started about 3:30 PM Friday and didn't stop until early this morning.

At least this time the power was off for only 8 hours (8PM-4AM) unlike the 23 hours in the past.

These pictures were taken at 8:30 AM Today (Saturday). It's a good thing I got them since as soon as the sun hit the trees the snow started dropping off them.

The temperatures will be rising throught the weekend so the snow won't last too long.

Tyger had never seen snow (she turned 4 years old on January 4th. After a slow start, she settled in and did her normal run around the yard without a problem:

Here's some more snowy pictures:

Larry stuck a 12 inch ruler into the snow.
There was 6 inches. The guy across the street had 8 inches in his back yard.

Our maple tree in the
front yard:

Our poor cherry laurel bush just
couldn't handle the snow...

Very snowy red tip
bushes in the front
yard

In the back yard:

On the right snowy bird feeder

Plenty of sunshine today and above freezing temps this afternoon and tomorrow will leave just a muddy mess.

Take care & enjoy,

Birthday and Baby Shower Cross Stitch

Here are the cross stitch I did for birthday gifts:

For my oldest, dearest friend:
I love the saying in this one!

Now for my sisters (their birthdays are 10 days apart)

I sent this bookmark off with a scrap booking book:

Yesterday I went to my first baby shower in nearly 20 years. The mother-to-be has the nursery set up with a Noah's Ark them, so I stitched this elegant Just Nan piece for her shower gift (another gift had been sent from her registry):

This was the first Just Nan design that I have stitched. This designer is a cross-stitcher! There is an ease and smoothness stitching designs that a fellow cross-stitcher has done. I have more of her designs to stitch and I am looking forward to doing them.

But right now - it's a Noah's Ark baby sampler I'm working on...
Christmas Cross Stitch

Here are the gifts I stitched for friend and family:

I started the Salty Santas in January 2005 and finished it in November 2008:

There are three retired sailors in our family: me, my sister, and an uncle.

Of course every year I do a Santa, Snowman and Angel:

My cat loving sister is a very busy lady, so I though this was perfect for her:

A cute gift tag:

And a banner (for my boss):
Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Things are Looking Up

Larry is doing much better after he came home from the hospital on 4/29/09. He was thoroughly checked out - his heart and stomach are fine. He has a bit of pneumonia and of course the already diagnosed diabetes and arthritis.
He is eating normally and feeling better so he doesn't fell the need to take all of his pain pills. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.

Went Looking - Got A New Car

After 15 years in trucks we decided to move back to cars. I guess the Kia ads were effective since that is the company we decided to look at.

From the first time I saw the Amanti on the Kia website (http://www.kia.com/)
I thought it looked like a German touring car.

We were considering the Optima but Saturday we went to look at cars, the one that really caught our eye was the Amanti.

Here's a couple of pictures I took Monday - the day we picked the car up:

Things are Looking Up!

After a long conversation with the counselor at the hospital Wednesday night I got her to understand that the reason my husband seems to be mentally upset is because he was in a lot of pain. The cops brought him back at 9:10 PM.

I ended up taking Thursday off - we stayed up late Wednesday talking.

Thursday morning Larry went back to his mom's doctor (the one that sent him to the mental health clinic) and he told him he wouldn't change his prescriptions unless he got clearance from the mental health clinic - the clinic that wanted my husband committed! Our regular doctor retired and another practice has opened up in his building. It is headed by a black woman - so Larry was a little leery at first but did go see her. And he found a doctor who listened to him. She also had his record from his old doctor - the woman who was cleaning out the closed practice walked his record down the hall. The new doctor changed a couple of his prescriptions and gave him one that helps with diabetic nerve pain! Finally!!

Friday Larry was in much better spirits - the shooting pains that he had been suffering from since the second week of December are gone. Now he just hurts from the arthritis.

The last seven weeks had been really hard on me. It was funny, everyone at work Friday could see that a load had been lifted off of me! Hallelujah!!!

Wednesday night was pretty scary but things are looking up!

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers!

Take care & enjoy,
Florence

I Cannot Believe What Has Happened!

Larry has been dealing with nerve pains since the second week of December. His regular doctor didn't want to give him any painkillers for him to get addicted to. We started looking for pain management doctors but the pain management center that took our insurance is no longer in business. Larry set up an appointment with his Mom's pain doctor but that didn't work out. Last week his regular doctor told him he was retiring.

Larry found a new doctor and his first appointment today and he sent Larry over to the mental health clinic. He's hurting so bad he can hardly take it - so he says he can't take it any more and the mental health clinic sent him over to the emergency room at the hospital. Once he got there he asked who's going to pay for this? The hospital said they took our insurance but wanted a $50 co-pay. So he left.

At 7:30PM three police officers come to the house with a court order to take him to the hospital. They treat him like a common criminal and put restraints on him.

I haven't heard anything since then.

Please keep us in your thought and prayers.
