Time for a New Web Browser

I have never been a fan of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.  And given all the security problems it has, that has probably been a good thing.  I had been using Firefox as my browser ever since it came out.  I really like the tabs – every morning I load my Daily bookmark folder into tabs and work through them – checking news, weather, eBay and downloading pictures from Webshots.

A week ago the “throbber” in Firefox showed that I had some updates to download.  They were updates to some of the extensions I have.  Extensions are small programs that add features to the browser.   But those updates locked up Firefox.  The only way I could get onto the Internet was in safe mode  - without bookmarks and tabs.  Yikes!!

Time to find a new browser!  I did a Google search for tabbed browsers and found the new Netscape browser.  (The first browser I ever used was Netscape. () I must say, I am impressed with Netscape 8.0.  It has the tabs that I like so much and has the ability to render pages as Firefox or Internet Explorer.  Now I don’t ever have open Internet Explorer!!  Netscape imported all of my bookmarks – even the bookmark toolbar folders so I was able to keep all the stuff I had set up in Firefox.   I’ve been using it about a week and will keep using it!

Finally got to turn the air conditioner off – which is the start of fall as far as I am concerned.  The humidity is gone and the skies are clear and blue!  I love this time of year!

Finished reading the New Testament last week and now am reading Leviticus.  It’s tough reading some of these Old Testament books but I keep plugging along.

Still working – it looks like I’ll be there for another couple of weeks.  (

Take care & enjoy,
Florence
